GENERAL SPECIFICATIONS

SHELLS: The shells are designed for a working pressure of 150 PSIG and are fabricated from SA-53 Grade B steel pipe up to 24" diameter. Shells 30" O.D...... and larger are fabricated from SA-516 grade 70 steel. All shells are tested at 225 PSIG, hydrostatic. Other design working pressures are available.

TUBE SHEETS: Tube sheets are manufactured from SA-516 grade 70 flange quality steel. The tube holes have multiple grooves into which the tubes are mechanically rolled by means of a tube expander.

TUBES: The tubes used in the horizontal shell and tube chillers are 1-1/4" O.D..,# 13 gauge(.095 wall) E.R.W. conforming to ASME specification SA-214.

BOLTED HEADS: Heads up to and including 20" are gray iron castings arranged for multiple pass water flow: 24" and larger heads are steel fabricated and hot dip galvanized. Standard water heads are available for 4, 6, 8 or 12 passes.

TUBE SIDE CONNECTIONS: Flanged tube side connections with companion flanges, bolts and gaskets.

SHELL SIDE CONNECTIONS: All refrigerant connections 2" and smaller, are F.P.T., 2-1/2" and larger are plain ends for welding.

SURGE DRUMS: Sized for low velocity with multiple direction gas flow.

STEEL SADDLES WITH WOOD BLOCKS: Available at extra cost.

A.S.M.E. CONSTRUCTION: All shell and tube chillers are designed, fabricated and certified to comply with the A.S.M.E. pressure vessel code.
